Data and Dashboards
We set out to create a user-friendly dashboard that brings together all the data for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) projects. We initially launched the dashboard in the winter of 2023, and we recently upgraded the dashboard with additional features that offer different views into the various projects. These views include tracking spending progress, breaking down agency spending versus overall state spending, highlighting areas of investment, and presenting a comprehensive list of projects.
Collaborating with Stakeholders
Throughout this endeavor, we've collaborated with a diverse range of stakeholders. This includes state agencies overseeing project implementation, as well as external organizations keen to understand how the $2.8 billion in ARPA funds are being utilized across the state.
Creating Better Government Transparency
By consolidating and visualizing this data, our dashboard promotes transparency, accountability, accessibility with the possibility to inform decision-making. It empowers legislators and the public with quarterly access to crucial information, enabling them to monitor spending trends and project progress effectively. External organizations now have a powerful tool at their disposal for tracking expenditures and assessing performance and exploring opportunities for collaboration and investment.
How we all Benefit
In summary, the successful outcome of our work lies not only in the creation of a dynamic dashboard but also in its positive contribution to fostering collaboration and ensuring the effective use of ARPA funding for the benefit of Connecticut and its residents.
